Overview

Upper Dolpo is a secret trekking destination renowned for its untouched serene natural beauty. It lies in the Shey-Phoksundo National Park in the mid-western region of Nepal with. Trekking to upper Dolpo is full of adventure and fun. Major highlights of the Upper Dolpo trek include high passes, rare flora and fauna, and spellbinding views of the Himalayan panorama.

On the Upper Dolpo Trek I will take you to enormous mountain ranges of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Kanjiroba. Dolpo region situated between the Tibetan plateau and the Dhaulagiri Himalayan range is the uppermost populated land of western Nepal. Dolpo, a land beyond the Himalaya, summon up visions of strange monasteries, snow leopards and blue sheep; it is situated in the north-west part of the country, and is one of the most remote regions in Nepal.

Nepal’s first English-subtitled movie on Dolpo — The Himalaya (a.k.a. The Caravan) — was an enormous achievement and was nominated for the Oscar Award in the best foreign language film category. Boundaries of the Shey-Phoksundo National Park span some 3,500 square kilometers of land, mostly above 4,000 meters. Before 1989, when the southern regions were opened to trekking groups, very few explorers had visited the area.

The best part of our Upper Dolpo trekking trip is to have two nights here to enjoy the beauty of the deep blue waters of the Shey Phoksundo Lake and the adjacent snow peaks of Kanjirowa Himalayan range, with time to visit the nearby isolated village of Ringmo and it’s Monastery. This classic journey prolongs to the astonishing country of Crystal Mountain at Shey Gompa, subsequent the ancient Trans Himalayan Trade route and back to Juphal for the flight back by an alternative route, giving you more opportunity to travel around this enthralling wild west of Nepal Himalaya through trekking in Nepal.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.
